And then left around 10am and headed towards Kempsey... there was a lot of rain and lots of flooded areas...
The road was blocked just north of Kempsey and we were told it would be like that for at least two days. We had to be 450km south by the next morning for our flight to Tasmania.We had to turn around and do a 600km detour back north towards Grafton where the road had been reopened.
There was still a lot of water around here too...
Drove through to just west of Grafton where we went up a bit higher into the hills and I was sure we could continue on from there. This is where we stopped for lunch...
About 3 or 4 o'clock
Then we drove up through the mountains where there was a lot of water running down through what were once small streams but were now huge rivers carrying water to the coast...
Getting into Glenn Innes later on... 
Continuing south from there through Armidale and down to Tamworth were we stopped to have some dinner...
And checked the maps...
We still had over 450km to cover.I drove through until about 2am and stopped in Singleton for a couple of hours sleep.
Got up again about 3:30 am and continued through to Sydney.
