I flew from Singapore to Darwin over night and I got into Darwin early in the morning and caught the shuttle bus from the airport into the city. I then caught another bus from the city centre out to Palmerston where my van had been stored for 8 months.
I got to Joshes house at about 7 and knocked on the door... No answer.
Luckily I tied a spare key under my van so I crawled under and untied it, unlocked the van and crawled in the back for a couple of hours sleep.
My plan for the next few days was to find some one to share a ride with me through to Cairns or Brisbane or both. I put some advertisments on the internet and within a couple of days a German couple contacted me and we all decided to do a trip to Cairns together.
We left on the Saterday morning stopping for a swim at some nice springs on the way.
Saw some big ant hills too...

We spent 3 nights camping in the outback and the table lands....

Crossing the NT - QLD border...

We saw a big snake on the road...

I didnt know what sort it was so I didn't want to get real close to it. I found out later that it is a black headed python whihc is not poisonous but they still bite.
Stopped for breakfast one morning with some parrots watching us...

Some cows under a wind turbine near Ravenshoe...

Some nice scenery on the way off the table lands too...

4 days and about 2700kms later we finally got into Cairns.
